Ancient beauty

The monastery is located in a private estate in Gallese, a lovely village nestled between Rome and Tuscany and not far from the neighboring Umbria. Set in a 24 acres centuries-old park, which can be used both for civil ceremonies and al fresco reception, our location is the ideal destination for those who are looking for privacy and relax in a charming atmosphere.

Although its spaces and rooms have been reconverted to a more contemporary use, the building has kept the typical layout of a 16th century monastery:

The church and the cloister:

The church, dedicated to St. Francis, is characterized by a minimal style: it has a single nave and two side chapels. It is consecrated, therefore religious weddings can be celebrated here. The cloister, once used as a place for meditation, is a lovely space surrounded by a portico. At the center, a stunning Benedictine well.

The Chapter House, the Library, the Dormitory and the Scriptorium

These are the rooms on the first floor. Developed around the Dormitory – which is the largest one – they are all currently used for indoor receptions. Civil ceremonies can be held in the Chapter House.

The Abbot’s apartments, the Refectory, the Kitchens and the Laboratories

These are the rooms around the cloister on the ground floor.

The Guesthouse

Now tranformed into a comfortable suite, it is reserved for the preparation of the bride.

The Capuchins Garden

Shady and adorned with beautiful flowers, the garden is used for the meet and greet of the guests. The area is equipped with a swimming pool, a wood-fired oven and a barbeque.

The centuries-old Park

Civil ceremonies can be held in our charming, antique pine forest.

Restrooms

Restrooms with hot water and changing tables are available on both floors. Restrooms for wheelchair users are available on the ground floor. All our restrooms are manned for the entire duration of the event.
